Prineville, Oregon straddles the Crooked River. It spans the stream’s wide valley between two long mesas. The town is conveniently east of Redmond on the way to eastern Oregon’s John Day Fossil Beds. It is a great place to stop to visit parks and refuel yourself and your transportation. Here are some facts:
